She did her mandatory National Youth Service at the Kano State College of Arts Science and Remedial Studies after which she was employed at the institution as a lecturer in 1987. After serving the institution for over a decade, she decided to pursue her life long ambition of serving the community at individual level.

She founded a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) named Home Makers’ Initiative Project (HOMIP). The aims of the NGO is to train young girls and women on Islamic family values, reproductive health, personal hygiene, cookery and empowerment skills to augment family income. Hopefully, the training will go a long way in reducing the rate of social vices like: divorce, child abuse, drug addiction in our society.

Binta decided to venture into the media world by investing in Moving Image Limited as a director. She strongly believes that there are a lot of opportunities for empowering and improving the quality of lives of youth in the media. She is currently looking for avenue to align her activities with those of Moving Image. For example, her upcoming online cookery programme will avail women and youth with the opportunity of learning how to make delicious and healthy foods from the comfort of their homes.
